The Honda is fun to drive only if you revv the engine. Jason Plato did mention this during the VW Golf GTI test, he said that though the Civic is quick and fun to drive, it loses out due to the lack of torque at low rpms, this is where the Golf (with it's turbo charged engine) excels.
And that direct shift gearbox on it is to die for. There is no lag while shifting gears and they found that the DSG Golf turned out to be quicker than a M/T Golf.
I hear the new Ford Focus will cost 19,995 (he same as the A Class) but, that comes with a 212 bhp turbo charged engine producing 228lb ft. The Civic on the other hand costs a mere 15,995.
I still feel 19,995 is way too expensive for the A class. Especially when you can get a Subaru Impreza WRX for 21,495.
If you're looking for space then you might as well buy an MPV for half the price.
I don't see the point in buying a Diesel A class for 19,995, apart from the fact that it's a merc. I'd rather opt for the 2 ltr Turbo Petrol.
