My HU can easily do the needful... it has its own programmable filters etc...since it came with the remote...i just put it up for convenience.. |
Well, if it serves your purpose , then it's fine, but the effect generated from increasing the Bass on a head and on the bass control is very different, the response differs from amp to amp over the bass control, A bass control is typically for switching between Genres of music and it gives you additional control over the Lows generated.
For Ex: For some Trance numbers the Mids from the speakers are important, hence the bass control can be kept on the lower side, for hip hop it's maybe half way thru or more as you need more thud and boom, some hard rock and metal numbers dont generate that much lows, hence the bass contol lets you increase and adjust to feel the bass drums playing by directly controlling the amp, basically giving a boost upto 18 db.
Whereas on the head it just plays with the preamp output which after a level introduces jarr as it goes through the head's crossover and not directly to the amp.
If you have not, then give it a try using the bass control handy, you will feel the difference in time.
