Default DIY SQ install: Gill's Swift

Yes, Finally the day came. Three guys, Clipto, Me and Gill pulled up pants to install a system in our dear Buddy, Tanvir Gill's car.

2 weeks before install:-
Visiting local markets. It was a Sony head, desi alpine, paaaaoooneer 306 double coil wala and god knows what speakers in Chd. How knows how Chd people install ICE.
Ludhiana was little better with Pioneer heads, JBL speakers easily available.

But, Then, above equipement would mean install gets completed in initial 20k budget. HOW CAN THAT BE POSSIBLE??? !!!

1 week before install:-
Most of the equipement has been decided Thanks to our friendly TBhp and suggestions from certain "friends"
Only thing left know is the mounting hardware. Need to check in depth and order that also cuz wont get that all in my city.

2 Days before install:-

All the equipement arrives. Everything looks beautiful! Here is what all came.

HU -> Kenwood 4036
Front Soundstage -> Hertz Energy ESK165
Rear Fill -> Hertz Energy ECX165
Sub -> Image Dynamics ID10D2 V.3 D2
Amplifier -> JBL GTO75.4
Wiring -> Connection Audison FPK300
RCA -> Connection Audison FT2 500 x 2
Speaker Wiring -> Connection Audison FL214
Damping -> AZaudiocomp FONOMAT
Enclosure terminal -> AZaudiocomp AT25
Connectors(to prevent tape joints)-> WEURTH bullet type connectors

Meanwhile, I buy a sheet of MDF and get to work on a friend's Jigsaw.
Lesson learnt:- Working with MDF is a pain in the ***. Just too must wood dust all around.

1 Day before Install:-
Manage to get the box together and carpeted. Spacer rings also made.

Install Day 5/8/2007:-

Gill sahab arrives from Chd to my place by 9.30AM

Install begins by 10.00 AM. It starts raining by 10.30AMand thus Delaying Clipto's arrival. But hardly a problem for us, as install is going on indoors. Door panels removed meanwhile.

11.30AM -> Clip baba arrives.

Then, the three guys get down to work

I handle the powering part. Then the other two guys handle RCA and speaker wire duty. Trusty local installer's guys are also calling in for help in the cumbersome process of laying cables and most importantly, DAMPING.
Damping done in three layers per door and boot.
Inside doors. Then on the door. Then behind the plastic door and boot trim.

1.30 PM-> I make a dash to the McDonalds to get McChicken burgers for the two guys. They are dead hungry by this point. And I can do with a bit (actually, LOT) of dieting.

5PM -> Cabin cables done. Doors damped. Spacer rings installed. HU installed. Time to work on getting the Sub in the enclosure and the terminal installed.

7PM -> Everything fitted. Test time. Components SUPER sweet. ID is an evil SUB! More on it later. for now we start to wrap up the install.

9PM -> Install completed fully. Tuning done. I get to keep Clip's test tone cd's

9.30PM -> I go home for dinner. Exhausted. BUT, the smile on Gill's face is enough.

Pics to follow soon.
