Some more money for the cops - that is the sole reason why new traffic rules are introduced in Maharahstra. If you have noticed, no lorry (especially the construction lorries) retain their rear bumper (or restraint bar) and seldom have tail lights - but o one gets booked, they have to pay their way through. The situation is such that if you are a commercial vehicle you end up paying the cops for something or the other, so what is the incentive for these guys to be law-abiding?
