these 21 hairpin bends also have some of the steepest : the buses (Ashok Leyland) have to shift down to the actual first gear (which is normally not used : even for climbing to Ooty for example) to tackle those steep curves.
I agree with you, Harrie, the scenery is truly mind-blowing. Keep us updated about the trip : though I would love to do this, i am in Chennai now and can't join :-(
