In Alpine's the method is here goes. Long press the button marked "Setup" and then toggle through the options using the track up & down buttons. One option will be "Area" here you can select 1 or 2 using the source button. Area 1 is for US frequencies while Area 2 is for Indian frequencies.

P.S. This is for an Alpine 9813 but seeing how Alpine interface is I would expect it to work in the newer sets too.
