There is a restaurant in the first town you hit after Mudumalai. I forgot the name of the town. When you go from Mudumalai it's on your right, just after you cross the forest check-post. I think the name starts with 'Haritha' or something related to that. Decent place. We had lunch from there during one of our trips.
Most of our trips, we eat breakfast at Mysore, lunch at some restuarant in Nilambur/Perinthalmanna. You could find very decent ones in these places.
