On a more serious note though, it is perfectly safe to go 70+ and more on the fourth gear. You dont have to worry about any engine or gearbox damage.

Not a problem. What I actually meant in my original post was: normally many of us (let me be safe, I won't say all of us
) try to be on highest possible gear in any speed, I too do the same - but I didn't realize to shift to 5th gear when I overtook that time.
