Well one piece of advice to people who want to see animals in Nagarhole.
There are too many spotted deers and you will get fed up by the continuous sightings of these. The number of elephants have reduced drastically and to see the elephants you can come to the estates in the border regions of the forest as they are always inside someones estate having a feast on jackfruit, coconut, banana. Well people may feel its because of the encroachments that this is happening but is not so. Our forest department has this approach to become rich. They have planted Teak wood throughout the forest as this wood is precious and expensive in pricing. So basically when you cut a tree after a 100 years you get a huge profit. But the problem lies here. The teak leaf is not eaten by the elephants.
There has been an increase in poaching cases and also close to 80 elephants have died under mysterious cases in nagarhole.
