s0uljah: Very interesting report, lol. The Alpines are not as bright as you describe them to be. Neither is much else in the chain. Make sure you have switched off MX etc if it exists and the EQ is flat. The Lucents dont need any attenuation from the crossover ideally, and last of all from the head unit.
Also ensure that the tweeters are connected in correct polarity while you're at it.
