Default More Minerva AL pictures

The Minerva AL,
One mother of an engine, 6 ½ litre sleeve valve
Once it was all cleaned up it needed new piston rings and removal of oxidation from the white metal bearings and replacement of the timing chains and the cylinder block core plugs, which had rusted through.
Engine gearbox weighs 600KG!!!!!
Had to hire a crane truck to load it on a tempo. This was about 1996.
I think the work on this car and the weight of its components were what caused the slipped discs in my back.

The crankshaft

On the left are the other 2 crankshafts that raise and lower the sleeves.

The cylinder heads with the water manifold removed.

Lovely monster of a car.
