The Light Eight designation was used only for the year 1932 to name a shovel nosed Packard produced. This was referred to as the Model 900 offered in 4 body styles. It had a 8 cylinder engine with 3 3/16" x 5" bore/stroke producing 110 HP

The Super Eight referred to a much larger 383 cu in 8 cylinder engine running on 9 main bearings bore 3 1/2" stroke 5". This engine graced the Senior Packards up until 1936
