Winamp is simply the best for audio, light and simple.
Tried upsampling from 44.1 to 48KHz in foobar...but then discovered that my onboard audio already runs at 48KHz (it's Intel 946GZ with onboard HD audio) and is capable of going upto 24bit/ 96Khz. Hence, I've got the SQ of Foobar combined with good looks of winamp.
And VLC or WMP for vids.
Also, I like Musicmatch for converting cassettes to mp3.
