It will be most beneficial on a FWD when out on a track, as during hard cornering- the inside wheel tends to spin as it has less distance to travel than the outside wheel. A LSD will definitely help in this case, the driver can make a full-throttle exit rather than modulating the throttle to keep wheelspin and the corresponding understeer in control.
