Well Yamaha wanted to bring in 150cc bike and they did not have it in their portfolio, so what they do? Design one for India. And how do they do it? Give us R15. And how does it fair along side a bike in a lower segment for developed market(yzf-125) build wise? You know the answer.
I agree R-15 will be marginally better than the Hunks n gladiators we are getting here but is still way below world standards. And we thought Yamaha r getting serious about Indian market with giving youth what they want. In a way they are. And I am sure these bikes will sell.
But for me? I would rather save for a year more and get my hands on ninja-250 which is top notch quality wise than buying something that is made for Indian market. |
Very rightly said brother...I do accept that the 150cc liquid cooled Diasil single cylinder engine is a long step for mankind in Indian motorcycle scenario but as far as the design aspect of the bike is concerned there is a lot of distance to travel before one may come to compare the R15 with the likes of R125 left alone the Godly R1...The
new Ninja 250 on the other hand
was not specially designed for India so end of the day it turns out to be a much much better bike sans the gizmos like digital speedo, projectors, etc.
