The first car was driven in INDIA in 1901 by an European.
Car manufacturing started in INDIA in 1946 by BIRLA at the HOOGHLY plant (HINDUSTAN MOTORS) .
The first car model assembled here was HINDUSTAN 10
in 1947 CHRYSLER/DODGE MODELS were assembled here .
