Elantra sold 10 in 3/08. Now, Elantra is out of production since Jan 2007. Then who bought 15 month old stock?. Fudge, genuine buyers, or forced down the throat of `loyal' Hyundai employees. For Hyundai, i10 is taking away Maruti's market.
GM can continue to post huge 50-60% increases for another month. See their press releases for May 2008 sales, and thereafter.
I presume Merc. would be astonished at the huge sales of >5 m (S-class, etc). Highest ever for them in this segment.
For full 2007-08: Fiat can also point at a 51% growth for 2007-08! 2nd successive year of decline for HM. Lowest growth for Honda in 2007-08 (2.4% in 2007-08 vs 43.5% in 2006-07). Highest growth ever for GM, Merc. First year of decline for Ford. Sharply lower growth for Hyundai (10.9% in 2007-08 vs 22.8% in 2006-07). Also sharply lower growth for Maruti (12% vs 20.6%), and tata (0.4% vs 20.2%)
