After a lot of deliberation and thinking, I purchased a Heather Mist color Honda City Vtec Plus (Vtec with ABS, Air Bags and Leather upholstery
I considered Fiesta Sxi and SX4 Zxi initially. But, choose City Vtec based on the feedback given by online & media friends (Team BHP, Car magazines etc
For sure, it is costly. It costed good 10lakhs on road. Roughly, 2 lakhs more than Fiesta or SX4. But, I felt the money is worth as it gets me good peppy engine, better mileage (more than Fiesta and SX4), excellent interiors and very good resale. More over, it was a corporate lease, so did not feel the pinch
I did not consider the Gxi as I will be the one driving my car and I wanted something that’s motivating and fun to drive. I also did not consider base Vtec as it is just 60 thousands cheaper and won’t come with air bags or ABS
Coming to the car, I am more than impressed with it.
I owned and used a Santro for 4 years. Though Santro is a very good car by any standards, this car is miles ahead in terms of power, comfort, space etc
I have driven it for about 400kms now. Car drives very well- very smooth, like butter. So is the gear shift. Engine has lot of juice. Controls are all light and very pleasing to use. The ride is soft and makes you feel comfortable. Seats are big and comfortable. The interiors are classy and they feel good to be in. This is where I was not happy with both SX4 and Fiesta in particular initially. I have not gone on long drive yet. So, can not comment on that part.
]I read in some other articles that the breaking is an issue. But, I don’t feel so. The breaking is in fact very good and way better than my earlier Santro. Not to forget that this one comes with ABS.[/
Right now I am getting around 10kmpl mileage. But, I am expecting it to increase after the first service and sun film installation.[/
Only crib I have is about the user friendliness of audio system. The Alpine system has a weird UI and one has to read the complete manual to get some basic features going
Tires appear to be skinny, but I was told any upgrade will void the warranty. So, decided to stay with stock ones
Waiting to go for a long drive some time soon and will update you guys more at that time
