DO NOT WORRY

There is nothing the dealer can do legally. He is SUPPOSED to have insurance on any car that he uses for a test drive - in Fact there is a separate policy and a temp regn certificate given to all dealers for this. Let alone a demo car - even if they take your car out during regular servicing etc they are supposed to display that temp regn in the car for them to get coverage under their insurance policy.

IF they have not done it, and you have a valid driving license and were not under the influence of alcohol etc, then clearly you can sue them for every penny they are worth for endangering your life in a uninsured car, and the subsequent roughing up , threatening etc that you had to endure.

Take it up - its only because no one takes this up that these guys continue to do dare to do these kind of things with impunity!
