The new C is definitley the best option in that price bracket.
The early 2004 W211s had suspension problems, which they improved with changed springs and shocks in 2005. The E270cdi is far superior to the 240 in all respects though. Difficult to get a nice E270cdi for 25 lacs though, should be around 28.
If you do buy the CDI, add the Brabus Perfomance box, and you will see wonders from that motor! I've added one on my E280cdi and its added 50bhp with better fuel economy! It costs about 1.50lacs here.
GTO has a valid point in the interest costs on preowned vizaviz new, if its on finance.
