200 kms on ODO.
Experience till now
A bit jittery, being new to Diesel, have lots and lots of doubts. So, was following lot of threads on this site.
First 70-80 kms was a bit too hard and stiff gear shifts, and a bit too cautious driving.
Approx 150+ I feeling the pull in 2nd and 3rd gears, and it feels like a real solid pull. But 150+ most of the driving till now is in peak city traffic(commute to work). So had to control that sometimes with clutch riding.(Cant avoid it !!!)
And cant reach 60+ kms in city.
During this process, I am worried about the run-in process of engine, as I understand from run-in related thread that bumper to bumper traffic is bad for run-in and limiting to less than 2000 is babying the engine.
within city, I cannot do even 1500 rpm consistently. Hardly I reach 2000.
should consistently same rpm is better or variations are better.
If variations, what sort of variations.
Please advice. |
babying the engine is good. keep revs below 2000 for 1000kms atleast.
varying revs are good. no hard and fast rules there. just make sure you're not at the same rpm for more than 2-3 minutes.
try not to idle the car too much.
after all, you can only do so much in a city.
dont worry too much. the car will be fine as long as we dont abuse it.
PS diesel is your friend

dont be jittery
