I think the sub is a 4 ohm DVC. This is not the best match for the amp. You should have opted for a 4 ohm SVC or dual 2 ohm sub. By wiring in series, the amp will only put out roughly half of its rated power whereas, in parallel it almost wont work at all.

This was mostly happening because subwoofer was wired in parallel onto the amp.

It is true. Older gear and new gear is very different. By old, I dont mean upto about 5-6 years ago. Even then, the products were made in China. But at the entry level, its not a big worry. Its just that in the past, some of the high end products were real serious ones.
