Somehow I feel that Hyundai has an image problem with their larger cars - which I think is a bit unfair but such is reality. The phrases like - built like a tank, doors closing with a solid thunk, built to last etc which one associates with German or even European cars is missing here and this factor plays havoc in the higher segments. As I said before, it is rather unfair because their vehicles do stand the test of time (and kilometers) and are reliable. I can vouch for that because I know Santro and Accent owners who have had their cars for over 8 years and have been perfectly happy with the performance, costs etc.
Coming back to the Elantra - I think it is a very good car, just a bit low slung and not as comfortable in the rear as should have been but as I mentioned before - the brand image (for the segment) was weak.
