Perhaps you could consider each item separately so that there is an apples to apples comparison? It is always better that way, and you should make it a point to actually listen to the things you are considering for buying, rather than only going by what others have implemented (as your lists suggest).
1. HU: Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, Blaupunkt
2. Front components: JBL, Infinity, Hertz, Blaupunkt, Illusion (JL Audio, Kicker, Polk etc. are unlikely to be VFM the way the others are)
3. Rear speakers - need not be components. These can be coaxials of the same brand as the front ones
4. LCD Screen - can be mounted by replacing the center cabin light (usually the screens come with built-in light); you could alternately consider LCD monitors behind the front head-rests
5. Amp and woofer: unless you really really need them, you could keep these as future additions
You have not mentioned a budget, by the way!
