under seat subs are more woofers than subwoofers. they boost the midbass to provide an impression of bass.

it's been done. I have one such sub in my car and Gunbir, B&T and BlueRaven have posted pics of many a car wit this install. The best place is the side wall that is opposite the fuel tank.
