Its true for almost every manufacturer. Suzuki also offers six airbags in Siwft, but that is not the case. And if they offer these features like side airbags, the cost would also go up.

It has mostly to do with taxation and maturity of Indian buyers.

Does any T-bhpian had test drive of Hyundia i10 Kappa ?
It would be interesting to have a test drive report.
