Redrage, as Jassi said, all PS3 games are region free. Any game bought from any country will work on all PS3s. You only need to be mindful of one thing. Games sold in the US are formatted in NTSC, games from Asia are PAL. So although your PS3 will play them your TV has to be capable of switching between PAL and NTSC. Most new LCD TVs do that and will have no issues.
Blu-Ray movies are region coded. And an Indian PS3 will not play movies bought in the US (Region 5 vs 2, I think).
In my opinion, game consoles like PS3 and (definitely) the Xbox 360 - given its failure rate - should be bought legal with local warranty in case you end up getting a dud piece.
