But not to India as I cannot find India in the country list. Bad!! they claim to ship worldwide, but not to India.

Called up Sunil Mittal last Saturday. He says that there are no 55/60W H1 and H7's. It is only 55/60W H4's. The only H1's are 80/100 W. I would NOT like to go for 80/100W H1/H7 with relays since my car is still in
warranty period.

Any ideas/options? Please advise.

Hey All,

I've just taken delivery of the Fiesta 1.6S and took it for a long drive to Santiniketan last week. While returning, found the headlights highly inadequate for the highway. Been contemplating two alternatives i.e an upgrade to Philips extreme power or Osram nighbreakers. Pls let me know whats the bulb wattage to go for and would i need to replace the relays and holders as well. Am abso new to this so would need views on a simple, safe and effective solution.

Thanks

Given that my SX4's OEM headlights were somewhat inadequate specially on highways, was first contemplating to get HIDs. But since being a good citizen requires HIDs to be installed in projectors (rather than OEM reflectors of halogen bulbs) to avoid dazzling the oncoming cars, went for Philips Diamondvision for the time being.
It was rated 60/55 (same as OEM wires), 5000K. What I found was, the light was pure white (slight bluish though). The light did not seem to be of high intensity or dazzling at all (instead, probably of lesser intensity than yellowish OEMs), nevertheless penetration seemed to be quite high. What I mean is, you won't "feel" the light in front of your car, but can easily spot anything coming at a distance upfront while driving, which may not be discerned with the OEM lights.

This is quite contrary to what most people including myself have experienced with these bulbs. The light is very inadequate in normal conditions and is almost non-existent in rains. Do not risk driving with these bulbs in the rains. I would recommend you upgrade to the 60/55 Xtreme Power bulbs from Philips if you don't want to tamper with the electricals of your car.

Regards,
gpa

Even though I went through a lot of relevant threads before ultimately going into a shop and get Philips Diamondvision fitted, appreciate your feedback specially on the rains - will change them once the season comes by.
Understand that my experience seemed to be contrary to a lot of threads (and a few that talks about similar experiences) - nevertheless, thanks a lot for letting me know when the lights can go wrong for me.

The only thing I have in mind after this would still be HIDs.
