Question What do you think of these high end security systems w/ GPS?

Hello Gurus,
I have booked an AVEO 1.6LT with Option Pack & expecting the delivery before 20th of this month. I am looking for Hi-End Car Security Systems & have cornered these two:
1) Micro VBB Visit : MicroVBB
2) iTrack Visit : i:TRACK Leaders in GPS Tracking & Security Systems in INDIA.

Dealers for Micro VBB has quoted 10k for the Entry level product & around 20k for the hi-end Navigator Version, which include real-time tracking.
iTrack is roughly about 15k as seen in the NDTV coverage.(link in the website).

Any guidance is much appreciated.

Regards,

43 Views n Still no Reply ??

I guess I am AS New to these products as you guys are....

Well, some more info.

I have discarded iTRACK as its more for COMMERCIAL use rather than of personal use. For its price for 16k+tax PLUS 400Rs per MONTH.... is too much for personal use.
Also the features they provide .. like.. speed control, mileage check, assigning boundaries to a particular vehicle... etc etc... r not for me to use.

I am yet to see the demo for Micro VBB; but sure seems to be a rational choice as its more reasonably priced.

Will Update you guys as & when I see the demo.

Cheers cheers:

I am forced to think about it now, Is there a need for such a costly security system ?? Or am i just being paranoid as its my First car... ??

All throughout the forums I have only read about Nippon, Icats.. etc or in the range of 5k to 10k.

Can Any of you AVEO Owners suggest what kind of security they have ??

Thanks & Regards.

Well i am not aware of these products but just like many other users on the forum I am using the normal security systems being offered in the market..
I am using the Xenos 250 FW which costs around 2800 INR.
You can also go ahead and look for a gear lock which should cost less than 1000 Rs..
All in All the basic trusted security package should suffice & set you back by less than 4k.
Am not much aware of the more fancy stuff viz.. iCATS, MicroVBB etc. though.

Thanks HBaruaS !
A Basic security system will be just fine.

But As i said, may be I am too cautious about my first 4 wheeler.
But still, wanted to have some views on it.

I am still to see the demo for MicroVBB. Will update all its features; for those who MIGHT be interested.

cheers:

@jazzy, you should ask the mods to change title fo this thread to something like "What do you think of these high end security systems". Probably, more people may look in that way. Looks like the products in question are not mere security systems, in the sense most people here understand the term.

Car security systems, for most of us here are remote central locking with alarm and gear locks and impack sensors and motion sensors and X sensors and Y alarms and automatic Z thingies.

PS: I still didn't get time to see the demo for the VBB security system. I will post details once I see it.

Congrats buddy on your new ride. I would suggest for a normal security system with a gear lock which will be sufficient for your need.
So what are the other upgrades that your looking for as in ICE or the tires?

Be easy with her in the run in period.

jazzy, those systems you have mentioned are certainly not for you. itrack is used by fleet managers.
get Nippon/autocop/xenos etc. all of them do their job.
cheers

P.S congrats on the black beauty

Thanks All,

Esteem_lover, thanks; thats the reason i dropped iTrack as its more for fleet management rather than personal use.

Micro VBB is more suitable.

Instead of the real time or otherwise GPS tracker I would rather suggest a SMS tracker marketed by Amsaki - Amsaki 9110. I use one in my Scorpio.

You can have a look here (Security Devices to protect your Vehicle) ,it discusses Micro VBB also.

Congrats on the car! A Xeno / Autocop coupled with a gear / steering lock will do just fine.
