I want to change my safari bulbs, please suggest.

Dealer says, if we put a brighter bulb the clear lens is made of fibre, it will melt. Is it true?
He also says, due to high voltage the wiring might get burnt & warranty may be void?

Guys who have changed, please suggest what to do.

regards
Deepak

Any idea about philips extreme power?

Within legal limits you have /Osram Nightbreaker and Philps Xtreme power which give highest light output.
But the problem of these extreme bulbs is that they have a short life.
If you use then 2-3 hours a day with frequent dipping expect couple of months of life atmost.

You can try Philips Crystal vision 60/55 H4 bulbs. They are of the same rating as the OE bulbs, but have a better light spread. I've fitted them on my 2.2 Dicor. PM me if you would like to compare with OE.

From where did you buy these, I am also looking at Osram Silverstar 50% which are of the same OEM rating.

Osram silverstar +50% give very good spread in a safari. Have fitted them in a 3.0 DICOR, and the light is brilliant.
Tried crystal vision and blue vision too, but they pale in comparison(in the 60/55W) space. All show and no go

Tsk, I put the Vision plus in one side and the Silverstar in the other side. I found the vision plus gives better intensity than the Silverstar but the spread was better in the silverstar. The visionplus in high beam is way too high and theres no visibility just below.

Different bulbs perform differently in different reflector designs. MY comments were with regards to a safari.
For example in a Getz, the vision + gives excellent spread and throw.

Do we need to adjust the headlight alignment after we change the bulbs to a non OE one like the silverstar or Visionplus?

I am sure if i lower the beam height it will be much better.
