No issues in the rain, thats what Peter has told me. Dust has to be checked though.

i ahve fitted my swift with petes and it rocks,i have been doing high speeds upto 182kmph and it rocks,mileage was a issue i faced probably due to speed am getting around 13kmpl on highways and there is a bit of smoke more than regular vehicle,ne suggestions what might be the problem

did you get the CAI fitted? and are you running regular or premium diesel? my problems with smoke with the tuning box ended after the CAI was fitted. also, premium fuel tends to smoke more. not sure if there is a benefit performance wise

182kmph!!!!! the maximum i had the guts to try was 160. where did you do this speed? and how well does it hold the road or brake at that speed?

my best mileage with the tuning box was 19.7kmpl with cruising at 80-100kmph on the chidambaram- pondicherry route.

worst was 14.8kmpl, mostly 120-140kmph speeds on the coimbatore salem route with frequent downshifting, plenty of 0-100 runs in between, and redlining to overtake trucks and buses and stock cars

best FE with pete's box and CAI seems to be at 2000- 2200 rpm in 5th gear.

best mileage achieved has gone up by 1kmpl with the box and another 1kmpl with the CAI.
but worst mileage achieved has also dropped at the same time due to higher revs and more pedal to the metal driving.

NOTE- all FE figures with AC on setting 2 of blower.

hey guys be easy on your cars buddies.183 on a swift gives shudders to me.anyways were did you manage 160-rippergeo.i thought 120-130 would be the safest speeds for a swift ddis with stock brakes and stock suspension.

well i managed to hit 170 ,enroute madurai (wouldn't have done it in stock tyres though) and i'm not yet peted..!

I did 160 in trivandrum on the airport road, car felt stable. braked nicely, steering still felt nice and weighted. but was approaching a corner, so I lifted off the throttle. beyond 120, the brakes do struggle, so i hardly take it above that speed except while overtaking.

on my recent trip to pondicherry chidambaram, on the CBE- salem section, I had to do 140 frequently while overtaking. visibility was very good and there was ample space and time to plan braking in advance. however, had no reason to plan the accelerator usage, just tap and go

Its best not to exceed 120 kmph on highways or city drives. in city its best to drive at 80 max with occassional 90s or 100s.

it was early sunday morning, there was no one on the road either in front or in the RVM and the visibility was excellent. i could have gone faster, but left it at 160.It was the only time i ever did a speed like that in india. dont plan to do it again. just that it was the day after i pete'd it, and after driving sedately for over 300kms, I just had to floor it and see what happened. there was space, and it was safe in my judgement,and the car was still pulling strongly at 140, so why not? any bhpian would have done the same. speed doesnt kill, rash driving does.

if you read my other posts, you will see that the most common speed range for me is 80-100. overtaking may see me reach 140 on occasion, but i've never had to panic brake or even lock my brakes in any situation. what i mean is, i do not push the car's engine unless I'm sure my brakes will back me up.

@geeksrik- I think 100 is too much in the city. mostly I potter around in 5th at idle around 50-60kmph. pete's has made that easy for me.

I have done an indicated 175 kph on the NICE road. Nice and easy, no surprises. Not sure if I would want to brake hard at that speeds, though.

guys i have decided to put petes to my swift diesel and how much does it cost in bangalore and my vehicle is 2 months old ......odo reads 2200 is it okay to install now

cost me 25000 in cochin. should cost you different in bangy due to taxes. if you are used to the power delivery of the stock swift by now, there is no harm in installing the box now.

the only reason people are asked to wait for sometime is so that they realise how big a difference it makes in performance. if you installed it on a car straight from the showroom, you would not notice the difference from stock.

things to add along with the box
1. better tyres- I like the G3 potenzas from bridgestone- I've forgotten, someone please help.
2. mobil 1 or any other synthetic oil because you will now be revving your engine a lot more while having fun Roughly Rs 3000 or less
3. cold air intake.- rougly Rs6500

Use Michelins and you will forget Bridgestones, trust me, they are that darn good. MXV8 is available in 195/60/15
