I'm planning to get Vision Plus for my Swift. Has anybody tried them on the Swift? Is it an improvement over the OE headlights??

Vision Plus is definitely better than OE... try to get yourself a rely and upgraded wiring - go in for GE 100/90's you might have to hunt aroubd a lot to get some originals - the orinials are rock solid - the best I have used till date

However the current lot that comes is cheap and made in CHina and NOT in hungary as it says o nthe bulb (insider info!). The quality sucks too!

SHAME ON YOU GE !! (I will post some snaps I took of these inferior bulbs)

I hate it when MNC's give this step-motherly treatment to India!

Hi gang,

I am a newbie to this forum. I drive a santro xing and presently have the company fitted head lamp bulbs. After reading about xenon discharge bulbs, I am too keen to change my head lamps to xenon bulbs. I wud appreciate if members of the gang cud throw more "light" on these bulbs regarding the brand, usage, and norms.

cheer,
praveen

Xenon will cost minimum 15000 for the kit. Search this forum for xenon and you will get all your answers

Default Hot headlamp switch/stalk...

Hi,

I seem to have a problem with my Lancer's lights - I bought it last month & immediately changed the headlamps to Philips (90/110) as I'm quite blind at night & the Lancer's OE headlamp bulbs are nothing to write home about.

Had fresh relays installed as well, which came with higher grade wires, & they're superb, giving a fantastic amount of light with a great beam throw.

The only problem I face is that the headlight switch / stalk heats up like crazy - been trying to figure it out & have been told that the switch is taking some load.

Also, since mine is a 2000 Lancer, it didn't come with a centre mounted stop (brake) light, which I'd now like to have retrofitted, & was thinking of the LED type as they have a faster response time than normal bulbs.

However, I've seen many cars with regularly busted OE taillamp bulbs & only the third (often LED) brake lamp working, & was wondering if the LEDs take additional load & screw-up the OE system. These cars obviously have the additional brake lamps retro-fitted.

In short, I'd like four questions answered:
1. Why does my headlight stalk/switch heat up, & what can I do about it?
2. Does the 2000 Lancer come pre-wired for a 3rd brake lamp?
3. If it doesn't, where should the pick-up point be for the retrofitted lamp?
4. Should I install the LED lamps, regular bulb, or just leave well enough alone?

Would appreciate your quick answers...
