maybe you can try the GTO1202D or the 10 incher . And what about the JBL box? It can handle much more than a tube.

Amit, there is never an amp that is too powerful. What makes you think it is too powerful?

Hey Vivekphadnis, CS1200T JBL tube is like 125RMS, and the GTO 601.1 amp is like 600 X 1 RMS.

So using two tubes would be like 125 + 125 = 250 RMS.

The amp being 600 RMS, there is a huge power wastage

is 250 = 600 ? No, Thus there is a huge power wastage!!! dont you think?
So maybe i am not making full use of the amp.

Moreover, if i get a 300RMS vala sub, in the future i'll buy one more, then it is like 600 RMS subs along with a 600 RMS mono amp, use two caps and it will be done.

Maybe tats why i feel that GTO 601.1 is a very powerful amp

You see Amit, it depends on how much current you draw from the amp, right?

I don't know what kind of sound you like but I think two subs would be too much. You will start getting ear fatigue after a while with two subs blasting away. But that is up to you ultimately.

If you have not already bought the amp, you could get something like the amp/sub combo Rudra is using. It sounds very nice.

I agree with vivek and 2 subw wud be too much. Why not invest that money for high end components for both raer and front ande better amp like alpine or jl audio.
For lot of bass,i wud recommend singlr subw in ported box and two 6x9 spk in raer mdf tray.

I think Amit is after a big Bass Machine. With the 601.1 and say 2 JBL 1200B (not tube but box) he will achieve that goal. At that end of the scale I would seriously consider a custom sub box. The 601 is a good mono amp it would be a shame to waste it on a subwoofer that is not properly designed.

The JBL 1200T is a good sub for the 6500 they ask for it besides it is light and removable. Even I can lift it. but it is boomy. One has to use it very judiciously. The 1200B is much less boomy but not meant for easy removing.

another thing I used to do it build Handles (yes furniture grade handles) into my sub boxes so I could move them easier. I would suggst that Amit find a good sub box builder and build himslef a custom box for 2 12" woofers or maybe 2 small boxes each for 1 12" woofer.

If we could do these things in the 80s I'm sure there are many more people doing this sort of stuff today.

If Amit is considering a new 4 ch amp I'd seriously consider Alpine. They make some sweet souding stuff. The JBl 75.4 is a rocker too but I'm not sure if it still sold (replaced by the 60.4?) Sam can help with more current data on this.

Hey navin ji, what do you mean by boomy?

No i am not looking for a 4 ch amp. I am satisfied with blau THA480. Now i am just in mood to spend on mono amp.

Navin ji, thanks for suggesting GTO1200B. I saw the spec for this sub, and think it suits me!!. And i feel two GTO1200B would be good with 601.1 mono amp, isnt it? Can anyone give me price for GTO1200B.

I hope Sam is reading this too..but Amit...

Bass is not meant to be heard. THe absense of bass is meant to be noticed or felt (depending on the freq.) but bass by itself is often very distracting from the music.
