I did something very similar to a contessa about 15 years ago

There is no need to discard the rear seats. I would do this to the Ikonand use the trunk as a big sealed box. 3 10" woofers powered by about 600W rms in a big sealed box can be very effective. let the wofoers fire though the rear seat.

.. currently i am running two 800W 12" pioneer subs in my esteem's boot and also i had the boot covered with waste cloth and then sealed with carpet. The effect is really good..

I would either use the Santro or the Wagon R as they like hatchbacks and the bass would be right there in the cabin. There is no need to remove your back seats.

5u..., Bass will penetrate right thought the rear seat. In the contesa I had to modify the rear seat a little.

Navin, yes bass will penetrate but will it match the hatch's bass? Plus the dicky could rattle away with those three subs unless he spends on Dynamatting.

when i built the contessa system dynamat was not available locally. i used fiberglass insulating material for damping much like the stuff they use in speaker boxes.

In fact the seat will act like a low pass filter. the bass will be lower in volume but the low bass will be well defined.
