Exclamation Help Help Urgent Help!!!

Hi,

One of my friend has a Sub woofer, 4 CH Amp and 4 Speakers (2 front 2 rear) and 2 Tweeters (rear) installed in his car. Yesterday we were just checking the system out and noticed that when the voice balance is turned to right the subwoofer and right speaker both of them works. Where as when he turn the balance to left the speakers get turned off and only woofer works.

We went to the dealer and tried to rectify the problembut he says its like this only and is trying ot ignore it.

Now what i want to know is the dealer saying true. I mean this is first time i am hearing this. Though i have also never tried this ever so i dont know.

So plz RELP!! I mean Help!!

the dealer has connected the amp and speakers poorly. you dont say if both right speakers work or only the front.

Which HU are you using? how many pairs of RCA out does it have?

2. how is his sub fed?
3. His sub is being fed with high Frq too!

JK, the initial post is very confusing. from that post it seems to me that the left speakers never work.

Hi,

Front works all fine. Even rear tweeter works all fine. everything balance works fine except for the rear speakers. If balance is 0 then both the speakers work. If balance is right the right speaker and sub works. and if the balance is on left then only sub works.

HU is JVC. I will post some pics tom. with all the connections and stuff as we are going to boston acoustics. Though i will tell him to wait maybe you ppl are able to help.

this is confusing. i would remove all the wires and start fron scratch.

1. connect HU front to ch 1-2 of amp
2. bridge ch 3-4 of amp
3. connect HU sub out to ch 3-4 of amp
4. connect HU speaker out to rear speakers and tweeter (in parallel) but add a small 10W 4ohm resistor in series with the tweeter.
5. connect ch 1 or amp to right front and ch 2 to left front
6. connect ch 3-4 now mono to subwoofer

Could some left to right or right to left connection somewhere be causing this problem?

I think the dealer has connected all 4 speakers to the right channel and the sb to the left using the balance as a fader but then why does the sub work when the balance is on the right?

Hi naveen,

This may not confuse you.

1.) HU is connected directly to Front speakers. SO no amp role here. So point no. 5 in yer post is out.
2.) connect HU speaker out to rear speakers and tweeter (in parallel) but add a small 10W 4ohm resistor in series with the tweeter. This has been done so this is also of no use.

Also any one have a pics of amp where one can tell me which channel is which .

ok this is getting confusing. It is best that you post the entire circuit.

if the HU is driving the front then i asume the amp is driving the rear and tweeters and the sub.

Obviously the wiring is messed up. So why not remove all the wiring and start over logically. connect one pair of speakers at a time.

Dude... It seems you are in Delhi... if so, who is the dealer who installed your system. Like Navin and others, I suggest you take it apart and start from scratch.
