iPod on stock Optra Blaupunkt? - Team-BHP

Just wondering if the the stock Blaupunkt system on the optra can support the iPod Video through a cable of some sort.
Everyone talks about high end blau's having ipod connectivity kits etc. What about the stock ones which come with the car.

Let me in on your thoughts.

I am not sure if the Blaupunkt on the Optra is Ipod-ready. However, what you can do is get the head-unit conversion done such that I connect the Ipod to a headphone pin(the only visible result of conversion) that comes out of the head-unit and then change the Radio mode to AM. The conversion cost me about Rs.1200 and the SQ is better than via and I-trip. I got it done from Auto Fusion (Anwar), Bangalore.

hi,
yes you can attech i pod with your optra stereo.the cable will cost you Rs.660/ and you can get it in any authorised blaupunct shop.

it has no particular model...
its just the stock ones that come with the car.Suprisingly no "City Name" for this one.

ya managed to pod the optra....
cable 600 bucks...labour 200 bucks.....
he had to yank the whole middle console to get at the back of the HU.
was painfull to watch.

Can U Please post pics ? I just want to see how does it look ? Do u have any stand for IPOD in car ?

I am planning to take Creative Zen M & use it in car. ( Creative zen is far better then IPOD).. Please tell me how is the sound effect of POD in car speakers at high volume ?? ( Specially bass )

the music quality from an ipod will always be good. the weekest link are ur speakers. if u have a good setup, then it shd sound pretty good.
i dont have an ipod stand as yet.not sure if i will even bother putting one.

for me ipod works....i dont know if creative or any other xyz make is better.

prakash, wish if i cud have show you practically the difference between Cr zen and iPod. So many of my friends here at US had returned the Creative Zen and have seen no one (though I'm sure there must be some) complaining against iPod leaving the scratch problem for the black one. I think Lemon's analysis is correct.
