Default ICE for a Lancer

Hello everyone,

Iam planning to have a new setup for my Lancer and it
would be great if you guys can help me set one up under
a budget of 25k to 30k without the HU. I have a new Alpine
CDA9856 bought from the U.S. for Rs.9k.

The setup will have the following components:

1 mid drivers in the front
1 rear drivers
2 12" subs
amps to drive the subs

Please give me the cost split across each component and
the recommended brand.

Thanks very much.

Regards
Vikram. S

you should get an amp for the mids too....

30K....SQ with some SPL....
10K on a 4 ch. amp
10K on front and rear speakers
10K on 1 12" box sub.

use HU to drive rear speakers.

example:
amp: JBL 60.4 or Pio 944
JBL GTO 606/636 combo or Blau ODx series
JBl 1200B

30K....SPL.....
14K on 2 12" subs
6K on front and rear speakers
10K on amps

one amp for subs other for front and rear.

amp: 2 x Sony 504
speakers: JBL 636 for front and rear
subs: 2 x JBL 1200T

brands for amps: Pioneer, Sony, JBL, Blaupunkt
Speakers: JBL, Blaupunkt

Expect some discounts on prices mentioned but these would be consumed by RCA and speaker wires.

Navin is there a chance for me to have a complete Alpine kit under my budget. How much does a Premier 12" sub cost.

Sure you could afford Alpine speakers in that budget and they're as good as JBL CS, Blau. Also why Premier subs?? You should go out and listen to a few brands and then decide.

I dont get to sample the subs at the stores here in Chennai nor do I get opportunities to check other setup. It would be great if you could recommend good subs which can produce good tight bass and respond to the music as is. I understand the amp also plays an important role for a sub's performance. Recommend a good match of an amp with the a sub which would perform like described above.

the pioneer subs are cheap and best bang for the buck. The 12 inchs are for as low as 3.3k. But there are other brands u can consider also.

Navins suggestions of JBL are pretty decent I reckon.

Choose pioneer as the last resort for your speaker/sub needs.

The Alpine 240 is a sweet amp but can drive a sub like a 944 or JBL 60.4 can.

Let's put a fix on some components..

You can get an 12" Alpine Type R sub and build for about 10K. The JBL 1200B is just easier to get.

You can get Alpine speakers for the front and rear but I think the Type R are a bit more expensive. The JBL set (componnents for the front and coax for the rear would run you 10K and the Alpine would be closer to 14K and that price Infinity becomes an option too).

The 240 isabout 11K and is great for front and rear but the 944 can manhandle a sub better. it is not as sweet as the 240 though.

ofcourse if you want you can do this...

Sub 10K (Alpine or JBL)
Speakers 14K (Infinity or Alpine)
Amps: 17K: Alpine 240 @11K for front and rear and JBL 60.2 @6K for sub (the ultimate VFM sub amp Blaupunkt PA275 is not easily available).
this pushes your budget to 41K though.

Navin, he says he wants 2 subs, not one. It's going to be very difficult at his budget, and even 3 Pioneer subs won't sound like 1 good Type R .

LBM, if you have the Pioneer SPL series subs then you should consider getting the Alpine Type X. That should be a real upgrade. And don't get the 15s unless you really have the space for them. If you don't have the right volume, the bass is going to be really shoddy. Actually I don't think there's a 15 in the Type X, will have to check that.
