Default power-house of ICE need help!!!

Hi,

I have a question about the car battery for ICE. I would be JBLfying my car around July 06.
I need to wait long because as i mentioned in some of my earlier post that "I have a first job of 20k, and i am trying to get a system of 80k (app)",

Things that i have bought from the market are: (but not yet installed)
1. JBL606Ce components
2. JBL Wiring kits (2 kits)
3. JBL GTO 75.4 (4 channel amp)

Stuff still to be pruchased in the near future is:
1. Two JBL GT415 subwoofers
2. JBL GTO601.1 mono amp.

Stuff already in my car:
1. Pioneer Rear speakers (Yellow ones)
2. Pioneer 7750 HU

And just sold my JBL bass tube and blau THA480 yesterday.

Ok, now my question session beings....
Since i am planning to install all the above mentioned things in near future, do i have to replace my battery? Battery that i am using currently is company fitted. Moreover I, got this accent only about 1.5 years ago.

Do you people feel that my car battery is too old to play this stuff??

If yes,can some Alternator setting help the system to be played optimally??

i think that i am asking too many questions!!! But kindly help.

Thanks

So far you already have almost all you need for a pretty stonking system.
You will use a 75.4 and a 601.1 amplification (I must complement you on your choice here) and i dont think you need to change the battery or tinker with the alternator etc.
I think you need to invest in a 1 Farad capacitor for the bass, that should pretty much be it.Since you have 2 JBL wiring kits(original I hope), your doing alright then on the electricals.

2 GT4-15s and a 601.1 geez. why? unless you are a bass head you wont need near that much. i know Sam will kill me for this but a 301.1 and 1 GT4 -15 would satisfy me. Unless you like the stuff my nephew listens to (Trance, Rave, etc.. and other electronic music) a single GT4-15 in a correctly tuned box will be plenty. Then again I am an old man and you are supposed to take all we say with a table spoon of salt.

thanks SAM for replying.

Ya the JBL wirings are genuine as i got them from the JBL show room in Bandra (opp Gaiety Galaxy). Which brand of cap should i look for and how much would it cost??

Do i need to install two caps? as i would be using 2 GT415 15" subs.

Default Sam??

Sam, If I remember correctly, the original JBL wiring kit comes in 8ga variety only. If so, Amit is gonna use the GTO601.1 which is rated at 424 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms and 580 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms (according to crutchfield).

Given Amits listening tastes (he admits he is a Basshead), I think he needs at least 4ga for the mono amp. An 8ga cable will not suffice.

Also, you dont need any alternator tweaks or upgrades. A good 1f Cap will suffice. Please avoid BOSS types.

There are 15" subwoofers which can play in a sealed box of 18 Litres (0.64 cuft) and ported box of 30 Litres (1.06 cuft). I don't think they are big by any standards.

He evidently isn't talkin about those 15s. You know how most of the 15s need approx 2 cu. ft to even fart.

i am not planning to use to car as boot as a box as it'll eat up the whole boot making the boot unusable. Rather i am getting custom built encolsures onto which the woofer would be mounted. Also to make space for luggage at time, the whole box can be removed.

U r right, now days u get variety of sub in India , there was time when only pioneer free air subs were only avalable, But now time has changed so are the people installing good stuff in there car. about the sub that amit is going to use he will need 43 liters (1.51cu.ft) sealed and 113 liters(4 cu.ft) for the ported box for the max from this subs, thats why i said that he will be requiring a big enclosure.
