JBL- 6*9 GTO937

or

Infinity

KAPPA693.71 or REF 9313I.

No kappa series are costly and i am trying to finalise on either JBL or REF series

Both I am getting From Dubai where my friend is working in with a company handling both INFINITY and JBL

I have never experienced an Infinity ICE system but i am not happy with the clarity of JBL. Considering this please suggest me what i should go for? Is there much difference in KAPP series that i have to pay two times of REF series????
Hi!
Please do not post in bold, unless you are highlighting a point.

What kind of music do you listen to?
When you say you are not happy with the "clarity" of JBL, are you perhaps referring to treble? Because you may find the Infinity having less treble than the JBL!
Why dont you let us know what amp you are using, what the config and what music you listen to. Then we can help you.

See this is why i ask people to hear for themselves. I find the JBLs have too much "Clarity"! :-) In fact the infinity could use about 0.5db of toning down as well. Thank god for soldering irons!

LBM, it really aint diffuclt. just download LSpCAD and some other software and it helps you model a crossover. these softwares also allow you to pulg in an existing crossover and see the transfer functions. after you do this for a bt you develop confidence and a better ear as well.

which has better SQ, better parts, and if you look hard, you may find the equivalent model in India for as much with B&W.

Yes, I have used the KDC-5029 and also currently using the KDC-8529 in my mom's car... great SQ HUs. And Kenwoods are priced well in India too. So you may just get a good deal with B&W here... The 590 will serve you well...

Yes you guys are right, USB plug & play sounds to be a very good inexpensive solution when compared to Ipod solution.

I'm stuck up with a hard decision to choose between Alpine CDA 9856 or Kenwood Excelon KDC-X590..... Please advice on this...

Anyone know what is the pricing of the above units in India.

USB plug'n play is a good feature. Only thing to keep in mind is that dont plug a thumb drive directly to the face of the drive unless it sticks well over there. Because my uncle did this in his scorpio OE HU and it fell down while playing and that 1 GB drive is only used as a keychain after that.

Get a USB extension cable to connect.

I guess in the kenwood, USB plug is in the rear of the HU not in the face plate. In this case direct plug in the USB Flash/thumb drive would be difficult when you need to plug out & plug in back. Need to go for a USB Flash drive or HDD with USB cable which can be easily plugged out & plugged in back but the cable will always remain plugged on to the HU.
