Default MP3 Player with seek and memory capability

Hi,

Ony of my friend is thingking of changing his CD player. He currently hava Pio Audio CD player in his car. He wants to upgrade to a MP3 player with seek capability and track memory i.e. when he restarts the car the song plays from that very second when it was switched off.

I recomended him Sony / JVC but i dont know whether they have that track memory thing.

So please suggest.

I have a JVC mp3 system (dunno the no. but if you want i can look up)... It sure has the track memory features... But what do you mean by "seek"?
P.S. I dunno if this features is available on other (read cheaper) HUs, but my mp3 system can play data discs as well...

Hi,

Seek mean that he can forward the track from 0.00 sec to 0min 25 sec like that. This is in all the players i have seen till now. So this is not big deal what what i have not seen is MP3 track memory that if a track is at 1min 25secs and the car is turned off then twhen again the car is switched on the track starts playing from 1min 25 secs and not the whole track again like in audio cds.

Have a look at Blaupunkt Memphis MP66 It has the following unique features:

- Integrated Bluetooth to handle your mobile phone calls
- USB Input interface - you can even plug in a 4 GB USB Microdrive.
- SD MMC Card Slot - it is very easy to have gigs of music albums (in your wallet - in separate SD MMC Cards)

Don't know the pricing. I am certainly looking for it and am looking for some one to buy my SONY CDX 7810, which is used for just 10 months.

There are some Pioneer models with these features. My friend's Subaru is fitted with a Pioneer which can play both mp3/wma. it has nice animation showing up during the play. It has id/tag - showing artist/movie details etc (if its in mp3 files). Good thing is it starts playing where it stopped when we switch it off.

My Alpines (9833, 9835) can do this although I seem to use this solely with my ipod. I leave my ipod in my car overnight and it knows what song and track number I was on. (OT warning) I find that irritating though as I dont care to listen to the same track the next morning! :-( different strokes for different folks I guess.
