| Been following the ICE threads for various cars, but noticed none yet for the Verna. I booked my Verna xi in Ebony Black today and expect delivery by Diwali. :-)) In the interim, would like to figure out what are the best ICE options for the car. I understand that the acoustics of the Verna have not been checked since not many customer deliveries. Trident Bangalore couldn't arrange for demo on the top end petrol (xxi). Has anybody heard the sound? Was thinking Pioneer double din head, JBL speakers (components for front, Co-axials for back, subwoofer and amp) (budget and Sam permitting, heh). Budget is around 30k and looking primarily for SQL with lil bit of SPL. Hoping to exchange the 4 speakers which come with the xi version (presuming the OEM Hyundai speakers will be crap). Please let me know if you think there are any other options, which you think will be more appropriate. Cheers, Spyder

Infractions: 0/1 (4) | Some questions: Q#1. What the hell is a Verna? Q#2. Why do you want a double din head unit? Do you expect to listen to a lot of cassettes? Q#3. What are the stock speaker sizes for the front and rear? (I think this information would be useful for everyone since I havent yet seen a Verna thread) For around 30k, try and avoid the double din head unit, if not, a major part of your budget would be exhausted by it. I'd recommend: Pioneer HU: 7-9k Front Comps: 4-6k Rear Coaxes: 3-5k Subwoofer: 3-5k Amp(s): 5-10k Wiring: 2k Installation: 2k Total: about 30-40k

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | B&T, spyders talking about the new Hyundai verna which is replacing the hyundai accent. you wont find any thread on it in the ICE section try the engine vengine section you will see people raving about the diesel engine. i have seen the car but dont know of exact speaker dimensions. according to me the front doors take the standard accent 5.25" speakers and the rear was a liitle surprise. the top end model comes with factory fitted coax ovals but they did not look like 6X9's more like 5X7's. i am not sure about this and this needs to be confirmed.

| The Verna will be sold alongside the Accent. B&T's budget allocation looks ok to me unless you dont wanta subwoofer (they do take up space in the trunk). At these prices the coices as well documented. and ofcouse (at the risk of tom-toming my own thread) there is this... http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/car-en...k-25k-30k.html

| Thanks all for your comments, but i was hoping for more specifics on the equipment itself. @ B&T: For more details on the Verna, check out http://hyundaiverna.co.in/ @Navin: Thanks for the link. Had checked it before and been following the other threads too. Invaluable advice on all counts. @esteem_lover: what was all that foreign gibberish? :-) Cheers Spyder

il est sūrement non une product de UB. he he he and of course it is foreign, BTW are you english ? ![]() hey spider, the double din idea is good, but i am told that the sound quality & the features associated in a D-Din HU aren't comparable with the single din players. i would suggest getting a good HU MP3/DVD player with an AUX in, the latter is better & get a cassette player & hook it onto the MP3/DVD player. that makes more sense. i am doing just the same to my car as soon as i meet a good installer.

| Hello all, Just to let you know that I've finally got delivery of the Verna and fixed my ICE. Got myself a Pio 6850 HU, Infinity Reference Series Compos (6 1/4") and Coax (6x9) The install was done by Thouqeer (Auto Fusion). Fitting was done well and sounds great. Now to save up for an amp and sub, for that smooth sound and rumble :-) Thanks to Sam, Navin, Gunbir, Mclaren and the others for their inputs. Cheers Spyder

| Senior - BHPian | Really nice setup, spyder. Next step is definitely a 4ch amp + sub. 4ch because you should drive the front comps with an amp for best effect. The rear channels can be bridged for feeding the sub. Are the Comps 5 1/4 " or 6 1/4"? And like Zak said, do post some pics. Show off!
