amp and sub under 10 k

i am planning to add a woofer to my current setup so any suggestions. woofer and amp should come within 10,000.any suggestions.

Under 10k the best options you have are :

JBL 1000 Watt sub + JBL CS60.2 2 channel Amp (you will save a little for the box also after buying this)

If you can go above 10 by couple of grand more, then

JBL DVC sub + JBL 300.1 mono amp

Alternatives that can be considered also are Pioneer 400 RMS mono + Pioneer DVC sub, but JBL will give better SQ.

sounds interesting can you give me the model no. and approximate price for this jbl 1000 W sub.how big is it and how much is the amp for.


as of now 10 k is all i have as i also have to get seat covers so the next option is out.

Apart from JBL,pioneer mono's,sony SD series amplifiers r also good.Dont know the prices but these r D class amps.

what are these sony SD serirs amplifiers any example.how much will i get a pio mono for ?

Sony has a series od digital amps called the SD61 etc... these apparently are also good VFM. I dont know if anyone has compared them to the Pio D series.

I think you should go in for a Pioneer amplifier. They are way better than the Sony amplfiiers. I don't know prices but I think you should manage a Pioneer Monoblock and a woofer (GT4-10/12, if you want JBL) within 10-11K.

Sony S-L122P5. any other woofers worth looking at in this range. which pio mono block / 2 chan amp can i use to power either one of these

Pioneer TSW306C Is VFM so go for it, 306 will cost you approx 3500.
Pioneer D510 Monoblock amp approx 10K, i dont have idea about other models.

2channel CS is for 6990 and 4 channel CS is 8990/-

For prices, it's always better to search around your neighborhood. If it's for JBL, there's always Sam. He prefers email to Pm these days!

Get a JBL sub and a Sony 4channel if you're very particular about your budget. If not, there're lot more better options. Do you wanna cross it?
