Hi

The new install on my Palio is as under -

Front - JBL GTOs 6 inchers ...or were they 6.5 inchers

Rear - Pioneer 6*9 ovals series 6896 or something similar (these were existing from my earlier cassette unit) and was adviced not to change them

HU - Pioneer 5850MP

Question - Is the above setup good? bad? What can be the additions (later though)


There are some vibes from the left front door because of the GTO.

Suggestions?

Your setup is allright, except for the 6x9s in the back. They will not go well with the GTOs in front. When you can, get component speakers for the front (GTO series) and move the co-axials in the front to the back.

Yes, this is an irritating problem. Happens with nearly all speakers when you push them, and not just the GTOs. The problem comes from the door-panels vibrating with the low notes.
Solution 1: Ugly solution, but the quickest and cheapest: Stick some A/c foam to the back/inside part of the doorpads and screw the door pads onto the door firmly - with screws in all 4 corners and one screw each between the corners. Right now the doorpads are fixed to the door with some push-to-hold tab things. This method does not hold the panels tightly enough.

Solution 2: Costly, but best, if you plan to spend some money on and amps and a sub: Damp the doors. Will run to 2.5K to 3K or so for just the doors.

Solution 3: Really costly and should be done only if you are really serious (in your heart and in your wallet) about ICE: Custom door panels (MDF) (with or without damping). (Now I'll show off my install shamelessly: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/car-en...or-panels.html heh, heh)
