Sorry Navin, your explanation went over my head. Can I perhaps request a diagram or two? Also, can you suggest some modifications, which would improve matters?

There is not much one can do to the Santro's stock location that will look neat. What one ca do is use the stock location for a 4" coax and get 5-6" woofers in the door. Now in most cases this will require a 4 ch. amp with a crossover (like the Sony 554 which sounds a bit grainy but is cheap). Use 2 ch. for the woofers in the door and 2 for the coax in the dash. set the LPF to about 160-250Hz for the woofers in the door and the HPF to about 120-200Hz fo the coax in the dash.

I have (grandiose) plans to get 3-way comps for the front of my Santro. I guess the midrange will go into the stock dashboard location. So if it's defective, would welcome suggestions on modding it.

it will be ok if you put the midrange in it...but few back will come out of the dash but I think it will not be a big problem..............

No a friend of mine wanted me to talk to Pi Speakers into building a custom speaker (corner horn) for him. So I looked up the website for their contact details and ran into this. I knew Pi used JBL and Eminence drivers.

BTW the speaker I have envisioned for my friend will include 4 corner horns and 2 horn bass bins. The room is all concrete and 10m x 16m with a sloped ceiling (3-4.5m). It will be used purely for HT. The Audio room will use dipoles and a sophisticated MLTL.

I dont have the time to do designing anymore but I do help friends with concepts and leave the grunt work to others. My payback is that I can listen to the system whenever I visit.

Does your friend have a barn or something? Or maybe a private movie theater? An HT room of 160 sq.m. (1450 sq.ft.)!!!

What's MLTL?

Nope he is an NRI who intends to build a house in Poona. Since it is funded by what he calls easy money (read as stock options) and his kids are all in college he is having a ball. Seperate HT room, seperate audio room, etc..

That's a nice video for knowing the construction of a speaker. Thanks, Navin-ji.

Thanks once again for the trigger - I found what Clip and I were looking for: FG-making information.

Clip-ji, have a look at this YouTube - How To Fiberglass #4 * Mold Making * Ed Norris.

There are more such videos on YouTube. Navin had already talked about the resin stuff. We only have to figure out where to get the preparatory gels and sprays. (You might need permission from your wife to use the electric beater, though )
