Please help with HU upgrade for Santro - Team-BHP

Now that I have got my front stage upgraded it's time for a hu upgrade.

Current setup:
HU: Sony CDX GT550
Front : Hertz ESK 165 2 way components
Rear Fill : Hertz ECX 130
Subs : 2XPioneer 306 DVC ( Going to be upgraded soon )
Amp( for speakers ) : Kenwood KAC 8401 60WX4
Amp( for subs ) : Audison SRX 2S (putting out 300WX2 @ 2ohms)

As you can see the weakest link in the setup is the HU so I'll be upgrading my hu soon. The HU will be bought from US.

My budget is $300-$350.
My priority options are USB input, time alignment.
The HUs I have shortlisted are

1. Clarion DX775USB
Clarion U.S.A. | DXZ775USB
Clarion DXZ775USB CD receiver with MP3/WMA/AAC playback at Crutchfield.com

2. Kenwood Excelon KDC-X990

I've heard the P880PRS is a good SQ HU, and also the JVC AVX-2 allows DVD MP3s and is also pretty good for SQ.
Also suggest some good HUs from Alpine stable.

The Kenwood has a nice screen with g-analyzer where you can see the g forces on your car!!

How are these two units in terms of SQ and any other options with usb are also welcome.

Please help gurus

That JVC is hawt if you dont care abt USB, else the kenwood is better.

If you are looking for USB HU ,pioneer 7950 UB has come to market recently check it out i dont know what is the price for the same.

There are a few new HU's from Sony India(CDX GT660US (MRP Rs.9990), CDX GT 460U, CDX GT 860U) with USB drive connections at the front (on the face plate) with two years warranty.

You can check the details of these HU's from the users manual of the similar models launched in US. (eg. CDX GT610U)

Sam's HU is good.
I would recommend you to also look at the latest Pioneer range.

Another good option is Clarion 965. See if you can get hold of one as it is now stopped I think. Good HU under $300.

Pioneer P80RS is being stopped too. Nice clean HU it was.

Gurus! Any opinions of the new Alpines?

check out the Alpine 9861E. it is a DVD player with sat radio & it is also ipod compatible.

it is listed at 650, i am sure it is available for less

this hu is nice but is still expensinve and retails for $450

clarion 965 has a touch screen and motorised flip panel, these things are bound to go wrong someday , so am not in favour of that, however it is a very nice HU

you can look out this model of pioneer ....it has every thing you require....except the USB support which you can buy for 4.5 k locally

Better Go for New Pioneer system with USB, costs around 8k to 11k, Depending on your location and dealer. I enquired the one with USB for 8,500RS.
I dont understand Why do ppl even consider other brands which lack the display that pioneer has...
