Default SONIC BOOM Suggestions PLease

I am planning to have some sonic boom in my Formula Red Adventure 1.6. I have seen a few installations that give you the boom when the music is played at high volumes - i feel this looks like a moving tea shop as the older teashops having music playing at high volumes to invite customer attention.

I would like to get the "boom" at even very low volumes where the music is set to a level where the people in the car dont feel brain dead!!. I am not for competition or to show off. I just need real good quality music with real good "boom". i would also like a main unit that can control the Sub Woofer (ie: with an on-off switch for the sub).

I am not aware of any of the products available except that i have a like for pioneer in case of Car Entertainment. PLease let me know what my options are and the Price range. Also is it like you get more "boom" at lower volumes if the Sub's Watts are more.

We had a guy who would have answered all your boom queries, but he's banned now.

No need to convert your car into a moving tea shop.

Some good mono block amplifiers have a remote line control, sort of like a turny button that you mount on your dashboard. This allows you to turn up the boom to your taste.

What is your budget?

And what on earth is a Formula Red Adventure 1.6?

Speaking of "Boom" (the sound, not the member), I came across an ad in the March issue of T3 India about a piece of equipment that claimed to produce the feeling of Boom without the sound of the boom!! What the heck is that? Is it the ICE equivalent of the Surbo ?

What on earth is a surbo?

You are correct RT, devices like these have been around for a while.

You see an extremely powerful subwoofer produces sound and vibrations. This one basically replicates the vibrations.

Simply put, it's a powerful motor, that causes vibrations, It is usually mounted on the floor of the car under the drivers seat. The vibrations are relative to the frequesncies of the music being played and replicates the vibrations and sensations that one would get while playing a real powerful subwoofer, without the boom.

So that your car doesnt become a moving tea shop.

Oh it's a Fiat Palio!! Well, why didn't you just say that then? I first thought it was some race car.

For this 30K, you want speakers subwoofer and amplifier(s)? Do you already have a head unit?

I think you are talking about BUSTED here who`s ICE was the loudest on this forum......lol

get a 4 subs all 306 SVC or newer 307 D2 and wire them to a pair of Pioneer D510....You will get a lot of boom....

subs-> 14k
amps ->20k
install->6k

No need for damping in your car as every thing will fail with so much sonic boom.....

I think you have misunderstood his query lbm. I gather that he wants high quality boom in his car, without turning up the volume too much.

Hmm...then a bandpass enclousre would help a lot and increase the gain to the full as even at 1 vol they will start pounding......

I dont have anything sam. I need to start from scratch. IS 30k budget too low!!! I'm not sure about the costs of these things.

Yeah. You are right. want good Music that wont be disturbing. I've heard of component speakers. are they better. Will using them make it possiblle to not need a Sub Woofer???/ I'm not that good at this.

A clean slate? Good :-)

HU: Pio4950 (6000/- grey I think)
Front comps: 6.5" 2-way comps (JBL GTO607c @ 6500/- -- I doubt if you'll get any other decent comp from any other brand in TVM)
Rear coaxes: 5.25" co-axial in stock pods (JBL GTO527 @ 3500/-)
Amp: JBL GTO75.4 4-ch amp (@ 13,000/-) -- Power the sub & the front components withe the rears running off the HU.
Sub: JBL GT4-12 sub + sealed box (5000/- + 1500/- = 6,500/-)
Cabling (Power & RCA): about 3000/-

Total: 38500/- (maybe discounts will bring it down to 37,000/-)

No BOOM here, just good, tight bass (sealed box for the sub, with good amp powering it).

For enough bass you need a sub. If you need a sub, you need an amp :-)

Comps in front will be much better than co-axials.
