under 25k Audio system for Santro - Team-BHP

HI EXPERTS !!!!
i'm a newbee to this site and pardon me if its posted already cuz i searched i couldn't find one .....

here's the Deal

I have a Santro which i bought recently ....

my budget is 25 grand for the Audio system...

1) i have 2 scenarios ... under 30k ( Max ) want to have audio system which i woudln't modify it again

2) initially 20 grand then later phase by phase upgradation for the audio system

Please suggest

There is a stciky that might help. Forgive the author! :-)

For 30K I'd do this...

Spend 8K on a HU with 3 preouts. Blau, Pioneer, Kenoowd, 6K on front, 5K on a pair of 6x9 in the rear OR 3K on a pair of 4" in the stock locations AND 4K on a sub in a box, 7K on an amp and the rest (3-4K) on damping the front doors OR trunk.

If you buy all your stuff at your installer you should get a free install AND/OR a discount bringing everything to under 30K.

I would suggest that you get a compo for your frnt but for that you need a good installer. Check out what you want and ping back or we may confuse you!

HU: Pio 6950 (8K)
Front: Stock provision is 4". JBL GTO427 (about 3K)
Rears: Stock provision is 5.25": JBL GTO527 (about 3.5K)
Amp: Pio 6100/6200 4-ch amp (about 8K)
Sub: JBL GT4-12 & a ported box (about 6.5K)
Power & RCA: Stinger/Twister/Other good brand (about 3K)
Damping: 3-4K
Total: About 36K.

Getting comps in front will be difficult if you want to use the stock locations in the dash (difficult to get comps that size). A good installer can cut the doors and install 5.25" or 6.5" midbasses. In that case you can go for comps (GTO 507c or GTO 607c).

You don't need separate tweeters if you get coaxials or components.

I've only mentioned one brand (and series) here as a starting point. Compare/listen to products of the comparative series in other brands (Alpine E type/Blau GT series or TS series/Hertz Dieci series) also.

You'll find lots of similar installs if you search TBHP.

I started my Day 1 Adventure of going to the shops and asking for the config ..

1 guy i mentioned Pio 6950 , JBL gto he said all china maal ( can't blame his experise ) asked for POLK .. he said its duplicate maal ( !!!!!!!)

2 guy was ok and gave me the quote stating without Bill

3 guy saaab electronic may Warranty nahi rahta ( i tld him is your shop insured? )
4 finally found one who gave me the quote :
Pio 6950 8300/-
JBL 2104 1700/-
JBL 937 3800/-
sub JBL 412 3900/-
amp JBL 78.4 14000/-

I ended my day 1 .......

i would be in Chennai for this weekend any shops where i can buy the acessories .... ?

can any one suggest is it a good deal for under 30 k
or any other options do i have ?

a) the JBL 4-12 (not 412) will need a good box. budget 1K for that.
you can get a JBL 300.1 to drive the 4-12 for 10K or a 75.4 and use 2 channels to drive the front and use the HU to drive the rears.

b) one install I saw was where the person had used a pair of 6" woofers in the door mated to a coaxial in the dash. The tweeter that came with the component set was use in the rear alongside a pair of 6x9s On a MDF plank. the front soundstage was good. He had one 4ch. amp driving the front and drove the rears and extra tweeter of the HU's rear channel. What impressed me was the front sound stage. Speakers were Alpine, HU and amp were Pio.
