Regarding the door panel ( well that was one my main concerns when I Iced my Santro) I will get the prices on tuesday ( servicing my car) you may also have seen hydra elaborate that MDF gives better damping against the stock door panels. however please check the cost of replacement door panels and let me know also, if sooner.

Even with the stock door panel and with the JBL GTO 607 you will need damping ( no fibre thingy) to reduce the vibrations coming from the 6.5 compos and making the front door rattle. More infor here, actually a guide to damping. Vibration Damping Installation Guide

Regarding the installer, hyderabad guys will need to help. I am not very sure but installation will be expensive at sprocket. Better to go there if you need to purchase high end stuff but installation elswhere.

how much does MDF cost ? even if get one do i need to do damping ?


if i ask them to use the OE door pad do i need to use more damping?

when is the Fibre glass used and wht for is it for MDF or doorpad

AMP 75.4
Sub 4-12 ( should i go for 1204 or 4-12 and sealed enclosure?)
front would it be good if i go for 507 without touching the door pad or 607

do i need to do the damping if so how much will it be ?
for moulding he said it will cost 3400 what exactly will it be ?

any good installers in Hyd? SPROCKET is he a good installer ?

The Santro front door pads cost 1.5K each. I think Hydrashok's suggestion is better. Either go for MDF & preserve the original pads or cut the original pads & when selling the car, remove the expensive speakers & fit cheap ones.
By the way, is it possible to fit 4'' speakers into a 6.5'' hole?

It is possible but the finished job would not look nice....so it is better to get cheap 6.5 inch speakers instead.....

Oh dash! I thought I'd found a way to save some money & get rid of my fake Pio 4 inchers, which have been lying around for the last few years.
But before that I have to hear some speakers, buy, fit, enjoy (hopefully) & get fed up of the old car. So it's still some way to go.

I spoke with the guy who installs in SPROCKET in HYd .
he was talking about Fibre glass which has to be ordered if i have to go for 607 wht does he mean by that and it costs 2800/- is he talking abt MDF itself?

If its Fibre'd do i need to go for the Damping again ?

I went to MOTOAXIS
the prices of JBL are of the MRP and he was not ready for the Discount.

I have asked him for the installation he said 1900/- which is very expensive.

Now I'm stuck with this question:

if I go for 607 for front .. the door pad has to be cut through, SPROCKET guy was talking about some moulded Fibre glass which has to be ordered and it will cost 2800/- what is he talking about? any clues

About the fiberglass, he was probably planning to fabricate a speaker pod with fiberglass in the front door. Strictly speaking I don;t think that is required -- a well damped OE door pad (cut, of course) or an MDF door-pad should do the job at half the cost. The fiberglass pod is likely to look better, though (if done properly).

If i let my OE door pad cut then all i have to go for is Damping then this way is cheaper rite compared to FIbreglass which is 3000 and damp another 3000.

If I were to get Hertz ESK163S 3-way components for the front & Image Dynamics IDQ 10" sub for the back, what would be the best choice of amp(s)?

Audison SRx3 driving components & sub

Option B
JBL GTO75.4 driving components & sub

Option C
JBL GTO75.2 driving components (would have to be sourced from abroad)
JBL GTO601.1 driving sub

Have not bought anything yet, as I'm still waiting to hear the stuff.

I would recommend 75.4 as it will be value for money option....the audison will be a expensive option here...

MDF should not run to more than 1500/- to 2000/- max including labour.

Between Fiberglass & Cutting doorpad I thnk cutting the door-pad and damping it will work out to be a lot cheaper.

I got the door pad cut rather than have the Fibre thing and i was not happy and not convinced by that.

he couldnt get the bigger one whch was 2500/- instead he told me he bought a smaller one for 1500/- which was a fibre ring. and lucky me it was broke . so i got lucky by not paying the 1500/-and asked him to cut the door.

now the Damping is left . might do it next week.

I'd take option 1 or 2. Choice will depend on your listening taste & budget. The Audison sounds a bit warmer and the JBL sounds a bit brighter. Better listen to both and decide. Then of course, it's between 13K for the 75.4 and 30K for the SRx3
