Tanveer after reading all the post by the esteemed member I would advice you to go for a ported box as it will be the best bet car a big car.....if you go for sealed it will not be able to produce the SPL and if bandpass it will only boom boom only....so well designed ported will do a great job.....

Hey Panky

thanks for simplifyin / demystifying sub woofers for mortals like me.

Looking at long & winded post from dear lbm I had a severe case of pre-exam jitters..when you read the question paper & realise you know nothing & nothing can stop you from flunking royally .

LBM jee, this was for information.
Your posts really enlightened me.
But I am still confused on one thing
"What is a bass tube".
As for my ICE.
I am thinking if its a open boot car like the safari, a sealed box will be good for me. Pre made by JBL.
If I go for a closed boot thing like the verna, it will be a free air or a ported box.
A lot also depends on space. I do not want to keep a box in a safari and loose all space to put big luggage. I will go through space saving threads to see what best fits my need and budget.

As far as my knowledge goes, bass tube is basically a sub with cylindrical shaped ported enclosure.

in a car like verna there can be free air which will be mounted on the real parcel shelf , then there can be a sealed box , ported box in the boot....

but in a safari you will have to keep the enclosure in the last row of seats...no other option

JBL also makes a ported box also or you can also opt for a bandpass also...it will do a good job in a safari.....

Bandpass boxen are expensive, a sealed solution from a reputed company sounded attractive to me, thats why I was looking at that.
I was asking about tubes because tube is narrow and cylindrical, so can be kept vertical pointing towards roof in one corner, and will not eat space this way.

Noooooo.

I dont think you can keep it vertical. You have to keep both sides open. with sufficient gap on both sides.

Yeah you wont get the expected output if you keep it vertical. Best bet would be under seat Sub or two 8 inchers in side panels like in the CRV but I belive that would be expensive
