Arrow i need a go on this list ASAP!

this is what the installer has given us......kindly take a look and let me know your views its really urgent. please hurry!!!!

Pioneer 5950 DVD/MP3 Player - (Rs.16500)
Necvox 10.2" Roof Mounted LCD - (Hasn't been quoted for yet)
JBL CS 60.2 2 Channel Amplifier - (Rs.9600 for 2 Nos)
JBL 10" Bass Tube - Rs.5200
JBL 6"X9" GTO 937 Series Rear Speakers (Hasn't been quoted for yet)
JVC 6.5" Round Front Speakers (Rs.950 a pair)
JVC 6.5" Round Rear-Top Speakers (Rs.950 a pair)
Boschmann Tweeters (Rs.2100 a pair)
Branded Wiring kit for Speakers - Rs.800
Branded Wiring kit for Bass Tube - Rs.800
Installation Labour - Rs.650 (w/o LCD installation)

Total of Rs. 37,550/- (Without the Ovals + LCD + LCD Installation)

I don't quite understand why the tweeters have to cost so much! can i ditch them? They are toooo squeaky for my liking!

And is it better if we go in for a single 4 Channel Amp (JBL CS 60.4) instead of two 2 Channel Amps (JBL CS 60.2 - one for the bass tube and the other for the speakers)

Installation seems seems like a rip off! The guy who is doing the job is Mark - Sound Shack / Stage 99 - 98410 23957

He has right now put two 8" component woofers of some godforsaken brand under the last two seats. They are don't help the MIDs at all! So i insisted he throw them out and he change them to 2 JBL Ovals instead in the same enclosure which seems to fit well under the seat. Good move or Bad move?

The JBL Bass Tube is a perfect fit just behind the middle row seats.

Any suggestions with not much change to the above budget is more than welcome! please please please hurry up with your replies because the install is due on monday. if there is a change i have to tell him today itself.

Yes but what brand?

Oh boy this list of products is all wonky. I've highlighted what i feel is really weird.
First: A cs60.4 will cost you less than 2 CS60.2. Why would you need 2 amplifiers (And hence 2 wiring kits?)
I can see GTO937 plus 2 pairs of really crappy speakers and Boschmann tweeters. My sweet lord what is that all about?
Please, just get 4 decent speakers, or 2 coaxials and 2 components. Don't introduce this medley in the car.

Labour for 650/- isn't exactly a rip-off, but honestly if this is the kind of equipment suggested, I have my serious doubts on the choice of shop/installer.

Flip, I got your PM. I agree with Sam. Your installer is selling you a big pile of the stinky stuff. IMHO the following setup will work well in your budget:

- Pioneer 4950
- Front 6.5" Components
- Rear 4" coaxials
- Sony 554 amp
- Pioneer Sub

Cheers!

thanks sam, gunbir for your inputs.

the pioneer HU and necvox screen was purchased separately. those components are pretty much finalized. its only the speaker config which can be modified as per our need.

as per sam and your advice i am ditching the boschmann tweeters and the JVC speakers. i will have to find suitable replacements. should i get tweeters at all or would front co axials do a good enough job? which brand 6.5" co-axials would u recommend for the front?

i didn't quite get it if u guys want me to have the GTO937 speakers at the rear or get some other set of speakers. also is putting the 6x9's in a box and placing them firing in front the best way to do it?

is the bass tube not advisable? the JBL amp and bass tube combination was quite impressive.

I think first, you need to chuck the tweeters and JVC speakers. Keep the 6X9s if you wish, rest get 6" components, that will have its own tweeter.
If you like the Bass tube and amp, go for it.

alright sam. JVC and the tweeters are gone.

i think i'l retain the bass tube and upgrade to a JBL CS 60.4 AMP.

assuming i want to change the 6X9 to something else.....what would u advice me to go in for?

do u think me ditching the tweeters and the JVC's would allow me to get 6" components within the above budget? please mention some brands and model numbers if possible....that would be realllllly helpful.

and is the CS 60.4 enough to power the bass tube and the speakers??

flip....what is your budget finally?

I was tempted to reply to your urgent post; but i refrained seeing that "kichdi".

go for front comps; as sam said they will have their own tweeters a pair of 6X9 for the back and go for a decent 4 channel amp to amplify these.

if not, i think it would be just OK for 60.4 to power bass tube & speakers. go for a 75.4 to power these two. that'll be better....

So you got a HU and a screen and have 25-28K to play with for a scorpio

1. front door components: 5-6K
2. Rear door 6" coax: 3K
3. Sub: 6.5K
4. Amp: 10-11K
5. Wires: 2K
6. Install 0.5K

There are many brands that can fit this requirement.

Speakers: Hertz Dieci, JBL (esp the CS series), Blaupunkt (Thc) etc..
Amp: Pio 6200, JBL (60.4 or 4060), etc.
Sub: JBL GT4-12, Pio 307, etc.
Wires: Audison, MX, etc..

guys i cant thank you people for all the help and advice you have given me. ICE is no joke. I found out this time the hard way! there are sooooooo many choices for the common man (who can afford it). i wouldn't have confidently gone through with this without you guys helping me. Now i know - Respect Hertz as much as Horsepower!!

JBL 60.4 4ch amp - Rs.8100
JBL GTO 937 Ovals - Rs.4700
JBL 607C Component Speakers - Rs.5850
JBL 10" Bass Tube - Rs.4950
MX Cables Wiring Kit with power cables - Rs.1000
Oval Enclosure Boxes - Rs.650
Component Spacers - Rs.150
Installation w/LCD Screen - Rs.800

I specially want to thank Esteem_Lover who i have been bothering time and again. And of course Panky, Sam, B&T, Navin, Gunbir and LBM for all the great advice! The ICE gets loaded by tonight. Will post pictures as soon as they are done.

Chennai boys!!! Plan a meet sometime soon.

the above equipement is quite good and you will be quite satisfied.....later on you can add a JBL 301.1 to power the tube alone and it will result in better sound...

Since your budget can fit another 1K or so try the JBL 4060 60th Anniv. special. instead of the 60.4. Ihave not heard either amp (but have heard the 75.4) and I would expect (based on heresay from Sam and co) that the 4060 might be nicer and offer a little more oomph for the sub, besides I like it's looks better.
